Underwater Video Music

Post by synthetic » Fri Sep 19, 2008 4:42 pm

My wife asked me to write some music for one of her underwater videos so that she could enter it in a contest. I don't know why I'm posting it here, except a) it's my first recording using the MOTM 440 filter (juicy bassline) b) you get to hear my favorite Andromeda patch (pad, reason I can't sell it) and c) you can see me diving with my giant underwater camera. :)

Enjoy. Be kind, I only had like 8 hours to write and record this (plus the voiceover).

that was awesome!!

nice smooth funky break at 0:30 as well :rastanana:

really cool, and very well done! you can tell she loves diving

that video makes me miss the sport....i was certified when I was 14 and dove in Ontario a lot over the next few years. At 17 spent a week diving in Mexico, and I haven't been since - Mexico was SO GOOD it ruined it for me, and I had no desire at all to get into the cold, dark, fishless waters here in the north

great video! thanks for posting this

Rad! The track is nice, it doesn't stand out too much and it doesn't sound at all like "cheezy voice over bed". Nice job.

The video is awesome too, I love the macro stuff of the small fish in the coral. The shipwreck footage is cool too, although I've never understood what it is, but shipwrecks spook the hell out of me. Like a serious fear builds up when I see stuff like that, especially big wrecks in deep/dark water.

I don't know where that fear comes from, it's not a fear of being on a boat and sinking (I love being on boats), but I know if I was down there in the water and saw a big wreck I would be paralyzed with fear. Weird.

Thanks. I almost didn't post it because not enough electrons are getting punished. ;)

Wrecks are cool. You're paddling along and you start to see a dark shape in front of you. It starts to get into focus and you figure out you're looking at the bow or whatever. I love that reveal. :)

No problem if you're wearing a wetsuit. :)
