Hi folks,
I have the Quad VCA and I love it even I'm still learning. I wanted to know if this is a normal situation :

Using it as 4 Independent VCAs

IN1

1. I connect the output signal from my Mangrove to IN 1
2. Connect the OUT 1 to my Audio Interface
3. I connect a modulating signal to CV 1 . The modulating signal comes from the envelope of the Quadra trigged by Yarns

No worries I can hear the sound from OUT 1

IN2

1. I connect the output signal from my Iteritas to IN 2
2. Connect the OUT 2 to another canal of my Audio Interface
3. I connect a modulating signal to CV 2 . The modulating signal comes from another envelope of the Quadra trigged by Yarns

I can't hear the OUT1 and OUT2 separately but I can hear the OUT 2 (3 or 4) if nothing is connected to OUT1. Is it a normal situation ?

I can do that only in Cascaded Mixing ?

Thank you for the help / answer :tu:

Looks like some good feedback on this module here. I guess that cements as being one of the first I'm going to buy.

Yeah this is a badbwoy module. Feeding channels into each other and adding voltage to cv= fat sounds with beautiful and complex softclipping that doesn't just "squarewave" your sounds on sample level, although hardclipping does have it's uses it still sounds like an arse when 20+ samples are continuously clipped.

i migrated from the Linix to the Quad VCA mainly because I missed the sweepable response of the uVCA. Plus the added boost sounds great. Haven’t regretted the swap at all.

After reading all these posts on the Intellijel Quad VCA, I went off to order one. It seems to be out of stock in all the US shops I've checked. Has anyone seen it in stock anywhere?

Looks like they should be re-stocked very soon. You could always order direct as well. Shipment is fast from Canada.

apologies for my n00bness... i don't understand how the linear / exponential response works yet. my first test last night, using only audio (no CV) - i can't hear any signal unless the lin / exp knob is turned fully CW (linear) - the volume knob only seemed to work when the lin / exp knob was at full CW (linear) position.. is this normal?

Follow the demo and I'm sure you'll figure it out. Sounds like you need to plug a cv source into the cv jack to open the vca.

Good job HawkFuzz! I was just thinking that those two videos needed to be embeded here for posterity... You beat me to it..

:yay: :yay:

Maybe this one should be here too, because it shows the Intellijel uVCA II and explains a lot about VCAs with Bias knobs at around 3:40 minutes or so...... Noobs should watch the whole video, and the other two videos that are part of this one.. He talks about LIN and EXP in this video too..

I'm sure most people have seen these videos already... Once again I'm embeding this here for posterity.... I wish Frank Murder would do more videos...

:tu: :tu: :tu:

(P.S. We were all noobs at one point.. No apologies needed)

The patch you've created in your brain is more challenging to modify than the patch you have on your modular.

I wish there was a way to connect a couple of mixups to the Quad VCA - im about to grab 3 mixups and the quad VCA to replace a WMD PM (along with 2 x Frapp321 and a Frapp 333)

Really like the simplicity/quality.function of these intelliel modules
look up!

came across this quote from the hexVCA thread back in 2011
intellijel wrote:A full featured VCA would have both attenuators and offset and a variable control to adjust between linear and expo response.
really glad you finally got around to making the best VCA

what would it take to make the continuous shape function Log-Lin-expo?
