Author My Top 3 Synth Albums, what are yours?

Kraftwerk - Autobahn - was hard to pick this one over Radioactivity. Love the use of Minimoog all over this record. Beautiful!

The Chemical Brothers - Surrender - This came out when I was in high school and I immediately fell in love with the Synthi and Buchla 100 sounds, not to mention the countless other synths used throughout the record.

Apex Twin - Syro - All synths all day, WTF, this guy is the synth lord, midi programming wizard.

What are yours? Guinness ftw!
trickness
I assume we're talking about "foundational" synth focused albums that made an impact on us personally? If so, here goes:

Tangerine Dream: Sorcerer
Jean Michel Jarre: Zoolook
Kraftwerk: Computer World

And Ryuichi Sakamoto's "Neo Geo" was big for me too.
Koa
APHEX TWIN - DRUKQS

EPROM - HALF LIFE EP

IVY LAB - FORTUNA EP
cyclopeatron
This is the stuff I actually listen to over and over and over and makes me want to play synth.

Recent:
Tobacco - Ultima Massage II Lo-fi modular masterpiece. Nothing else sounds quite like it, which is saying a lot these days. Great sounds, melodies.
Aphex Twin - Syro (duh)
Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith - Ears New standard for synthetic expression.

Fundamental Classix:
Vangelis - Blade Runner
Skinny Puppy - Remission
Kraftwerk - Computer World
Xmit
TD - Phaedra
Kraftwerk - Computer World
JMJ - Oxygene
24dB
Jarre - Zoolook
Vangelis - Bladerunner
Kraftwerk - Computer World
Torn n Frayed
Freaky Chakra vs Single Cell Orchestra-S/T
Innerzone Orchestra-Carl Craig
geogaddi-Boards of Canada
Cyberiad
Tangerine Dream - Rubycon (could be replaced by any album of theirs from 1972-77)

Popol Vuh - Gartens des Pharaos (not all synth, but close...almost a religious experience)

Robert Rich -Bestiary (he's an artist with real originality and solid quality, this one is fantastically weird)
Bataserpa
Vangelis - Heaven and Hell
Coil - Musick to play in the dark vol. 1
Kraftwerk - Radioactivity
beatcleaver
AE - Untilted
Gary Numan - Telekon
Squarepusher - Go Plastic

(I'm so mainstream!)

Obviously it will always change. Currently:

Barry Schrader - Lost Atlantis
Else Marie Pade - Faust Suite
Morton Subotnick - Until Spring
MrTurboparrot
Such a tough call.

At the moment:

1. Plastikman - Consumed (who am I kidding. This is not 'at the moment'. This is forever!)

2. Alec EMpire - intelligence and sacrifice (no longer a 'favourite' - but very important in moving me away from guitar-based stuff

3. Steve Moore - primitive neural pathways (solid polysynths, CR-78s... just so powerful and simple, and evocative. Wonderful)
MindMachine
Pure Synth:
Synergy - Cords
Tomita - Kosmos
Jean Michell Jarre - Equinoxe

runner up
Schnitzler - Ballet Statique

Electronic:
Tangerine Dream - Sorcerer
Brian Eno - On Land
Roger Powell - Air Pocket

Poular-ish:
Brian Eno - Another Green World
Gary Numan - Pleasure Principle or Replicas
Devo - either of the first two albums

runner-up
Yes - Tormato

edit - at least in the formative years that was the list(s)

I love the fact that this is one of the only places where AE and Squarepusher are considered mainstream w00t
stk
Portishead. - Third
Board of Canada - Geogaddi

And. Um, not sure.. maybe Bladerunner? Oh also AE Confield.
MrNezumi
Kraftwerk - Man Machine
D.A.F. - Alles Ist Gut

Dr. Sketch-n-Etch
Something with Rick Wakeman and his amazing Minimoog (pick one: Yessongs, TFTO, T6WOH8, JTTCOTE, TM&LOKA&TKOTRT, NoEC, etc). These were my introduction to synths, and they still inspire. The Minimoog solos on "The Revealing Science of God" and "Sir Lancelot and the Black Knight" and the intro and coda to "Music Reincarnate" are highlights.

Something with Tony Banks and his amazing ARP Pro Soloist (pick one: SEBTP, TLLDOB, TOTT, W&W). "Cinema Show" and "Riding the Scree" and "Robbery Assault and Battery" and "Blood on the Rooftops" and "Unquiet Slumber for the Sleepers in that Quiet Earth" are highlights.

Vangelis (pick one: Spiral, Beaubourg, China, Chariots of Fire). Probably Beaubourg when all is said and done.

Tangerine Dream: Rubycon.

Sorry... that's four.
