There is no sequencer involved. It's just the arpitecht with a lfo on the transpose and random input. br> br> |

br>Hello folks. This is technically my first real song done with the modular. Been recording live and jams and bits and bobs, but this is my first full produced piece. I think it meets the funky criteria. Hope you do too.

br>Dysonant made a point in the next post that reminded me why I should keep my opinions to myself, so I deleted the post that was here.
Back to our regularly scheduled programming.

I think this thread is more about posting funky and groovy eurorack pieces, not that actual definition of funk. I was really going from the OP definition

surely *someone* must be rockin' the eurorack funky... | br> br> |

br>Bass line, plucked string sounds, abstract percussions and some glitch stuff are all modular in this track. Support from a blofeld, TR-8 and RYTM. Sample is some Japanese girls trying to instruct ASIMO, though i have no clue what they're saying! Can anyone translate? Enjoy anyhoo, I think it has a nice funk.

br>This is an awesome thread.
I hear really great ambient tracks but these often sound like a module. It's a really hard fight to get your vision out there instead of giving into happy accidents. br> br> |

br>I make funky patches most of the time, I used to listen to a lot of funk and jazz but I find it hard to translate any decent funky musical ideas to modular patches. br> br> |

br>8-Bit Music Theory's latest video has some very interesting stuff on what goes into making music sound funky. I put some of the ideas from there regarding chords into my latest module demo. br> br> |

br>Ngarjuna, that Jacket Like You Mean It track is gold! Love the vocoding over the lovely jazzy drums and chords. Tight as!
Here's some reasonably funky house made mostly with modular. Bass line is Dixicon, marimba is Plonk, chord plucks are Shapeshifter. Pads from a Blofeld and some extra synth sounds from a Bass Station.

br>Another for the funk thread:
Lots of modular in this; Dixicon sub bass line, Shapeshifter synth-bass lead, Plonk through Clouds for some wooden percussion, Dixicon synth droplets through Rainmaker. Pad is blofeld, then supporting percs from drum machines.
The sample is Richard Feynman (the art work on the track is made from his eponymous diagrams).

Da funk very much in evidence here. br> br> |

br>Gonnae revive the funk thread with this heavy, funky techno / house job. The really groovy vocal sample is a newscast read in pidgin. Modular provides the funk bass (Dixicon FM combo) and also the background chord stabs (Shapeshifter) which are obliterated by the rainmaker now and then.
