You know, that's a really good question; I don't know if it can do "normal" at all. I guess that depends on what you mean: if you mean a setting where output = input (A.K.A. "unity") then no, there is no setting. You have to remove it from the signal path if you don't want any effect. But you could consider all-knobs-at-12:00 to be a good starting position to work from, as long as the input signal isn't too strong. I usually have the input around 7:00 (just barely above the point that the signal overpowers the noise), as the PB really works best and has the widest range of effect with low-level signals. The other controls are set to whatever sounds good!

Thanks Flight--- this is as I was expecting. Just curious really.
This is why i love the PB, you never know whats going to come out of it.
it would be rad to have a "blank template" sheet where we can us MS Paint or whatever to draw our settings.

im finding it fun to have either low input/high gain or vice versa, sounds come out really thick.

Heh, yeah, I still get lost in tweaking when testing new batches.
As for a template, they are already online in pdf format: all PB-1E templates, and the full PBBP manual, which has them on separate pages. Or you can just grab the attached bitmap. ;)
