I made a small tutorial on how to update the synth firmware.
http://nozoid.com/update-your-synth/

There are only few minor correction in the last version of the firmware, but I encourage anyone to upgrade to the last version.

looks like there is a firmware update for the ocs2 also.

Can you possibly describe what improvements the updates have in them? Since these require opening the machines, and a little bit of time, I might choose not to bother if there isn't something that will affect me.

I am way too lazy these days to unrack my MMO3 and OCS 2, also I'm just very pleased with them as they are, but that's great to see you keep working on them.
Sequencing them via an Octatrack or Pyramid is so much fun, it's great that we have now the ability to customize the midi channels.

is the midi channel customization available on the ocs 2 also? I only saw it on the mm 3.

Yes!

Is anybody using MIDI to save patch parameters on this? If so, what are you using?
I'm interested in getting one, but would like to be able to save patches in an easy way.

As far as I know there's no way to back up patches via midi...I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's the case. You can save 10(?) patches on the machine itself, but the knob positions are not saved, only the routings...that's why the patch sheets are available on the Nozoid site. Don't let that stop you from picking one of these up though, I have both and they're really awesome pieces of gear...

Thanks! From what I saw in the manual all the potentiometers can be CC controlled. So via midi in you could save settings. Although I imagine it would be kinda clunky.

Ah, ok I see what you mean, maybe there's a workaround that way...It would be nice if you could get in there and export the presets tho...10 fill up fast!
flabby
I can imagine! It looks great for doing rhythmical textures and feedback stuff. But these days I really need to have things where I can save my patches.

There is no MIDI out on this machine, so it's not possible to export settings.
But you can use a computer to recall one of the 10 patchs and control the fader position using CC.
flabby
Just thinking aloud here, something like Lemur for iPad might be a straightforward way to control and save settings for the faders?
