Piston Honda MK2 FM crackle

Post by ianross » Wed Aug 02, 2017 8:00 pm

Hey All,

I'm feeling confident my Piston Honda mk2 isn't broken, but I've started to experiment with FM on it and i'm noticing when carrier and the modulator are fairly pure waveforms the more I turn up the FM attenuator the more I hear crackling and noise. If I remove the cable from the fm jack or turn the attenuator to 0 the noise is gone.

Is this just a part of the FMing algorithm? Anyone else experience this?

Sounds exactly like the behavior on my unit. Kind of a fuzzy, crunchy artifacting underlying the tones. Used my DPO sine output, for reference.

Now I can't figure out where to check for the most recent firmware... :hmm:

I'm thinking of setting up a git repository for firmware and manuals and module selfies.
Need more funding.
