Author Laptop psu as cheap frac power...?

Specs:

Input: AC 100-240V 50~60Hz
Output: DC 15V - 5A
Wattage: 75W

Am I missing something completely obvious?

Yep, you'll be missing a negative rail!

Also, it probably won't be the cleanest supply in the world. You could probably run digital modules that only use the positive rail off it though.

Having said that, I know spbaker (abre ojos) is using switch mode supplies for his euro rig and hasn't had any issues.

Cheers,

I'd think a lot more people & manufacturers would be using them if they delivered clean power.

Buchla does use a laptop supply, but they are further run through several regulators before they hit the bus.

Thanks fellas. I knew it would be that easy. I have an extra power one that I was planning in using anyway.

Buchla always used poor switching powersupply's.
But the modules are kinda designed to work with them.
