Velocity misbehaving in Silent Way?

Author Velocity misbehaving in Silent Way?

So far it's all been 100% user error on my side when it comes to SW, but I think it should respond differently to velocity. The velocity pattern/curve does not follow my midi file on the lower values. I also notice that the two red lights on my ES-3 toggle to the left on the note velocity that does not correspond with the midi file.

Playing the exact same midi file in Yarns for example yields a totally different result, following the values exactly as expected.

How have you set up Silent Way to respond to velocity? It does nothing with velocity by default.

Hi!

I set everything up just like the video you made, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YZYR0-Aa9Y

then I switch the first env for velocity in the matrix like this:

That should be fine, with the velocity coming out of plugin output 3.

It might be instructive to record that channel's output as an audio clip, so you can see what's being generated.

This should explain it, cellphone audio quality but I can still hear the difference.

I don't want to hear the final synth audio. I want you to record the velocity output of the plug-in, directly from the plug-in to a track in your DAW, so we can look at the actual velocity CV values.
