Thunder Before Lightning

Post by GCF » Fri Oct 10, 2008 6:26 pm

Here is a quick Tyme Sefari and SOT track I did. It is a Zoom drum machine going into a Doepfer A-119. The TS has a loop in it from the drum machine before the track starts. Then the drums gate trigger starts the TS loop on each hit. Sample rate is being controlled by LFO gating with the drum beat. Sample rate and SOT switches are also played with throughout recording.

This is not a realtime recording. It is about 3 minutes of playing moved around to have form for a hip hop track. However, there are some decent stretches of the original throughout.

Any questions? Comments? Thanks for listening.

(And I have another drum track through TS in the works.)

Nice! I really like it!

This definitely has the hip hop format, and I would love to hear a rap over it. Would also be cool to have some more stereo treatments sprinkled throughout perhaps?

I am pushing the MC to write the nerdiest rhymes he ever has. It might be mostly about video games. Some scratching will be done throughout, also.

Thanks for the comments Wetterberg and Felix.
