FH-1 and Roli Seaboard Blocks

Because the search function is busted and becuase I'm hoping someone has already done this, I'm asking this:

Does anyone have a custom script to be used with the seaboard blocks?

I have the FH-1 and 3 FHX-1s. I've seen that the blocks are configured with 5 outputs but that the rise and grand use 7 per voice. Since the seaboard block closer represents the rise and grand (especially since I'm using two with a lightpad and touchpad) I'm assuming that is the setup I should be using.

So would I just take the rise script and modify it to use 4 voices? 1.7 added gated aftertouch, but this hasn't been implemented in the Roli script. Has anyone already done that?

Anyone who has been using their Roli device with the FH-1 for a while? Have any advice. I'm really looking forward to getting this setup and really opening up my eurorack.

Thanks for any and all help!

So after really trying to wrap my head around the script process I have something like below:

FH-1 script v1
MCV1:1:0-127:C0G1V2R3T4a5
MCV2:2:0-127:C8G9V10R11T12a13
MCV3:3:0-127:C16G17V18R19T20a21
MCV4:4:0-127:C24G25V26R27T28a29
RC9CC74:1:4CC113:1:5CC114:1:6

Bottom line is from the Roli supplied script. Now I have a ton of questions, but mainly this script, as I understand it, would be using 4 mono converters on channels 1 through 4 playing on the first 6 outs on the fh-1 and 3 fhx-1 expanders. (leaving a total of 8 unused (for now that is) outs.)

There is a poly expander but the documentation doesn't really make it clear if the options for the mono converters can be applied to the poly converters. If not the poly converters seem pretty limited for the purposes of MPE expression.

So with this as written I would still get poly action because the seaboard blocks would send midi out on channels 1 through 4 for 4 fingers playing. Is this correct?
Pitch would be output 1, gate 2, velocity 3, release (rise) 4, trigger 5, gated aftertouch on 6.

Assuming I've set the blocks up in the Roli Dashboards to behalf as such, will this work?

I am assuming the bottom line will need to have 3 additional lines as well for the 3 fhx-1's but I'm not sure the cc notes. Is someone more familiar will all of this able to tell me?

I am really disappointed that while Roli made an effort to create a single voice they fell short on giving us much more. Should this get sorted I'll definitely make this available for others to use, with a detailed explanation to make it easier for others to configure.

Thanks once again for any and all help!

Anybody? Just a little hint that this is the right direction maybe?

Attaching some Blocks scripts by @tomhallsonics

Thanks! These should definitely do! Quick question: for what purposes are the redundant aftertouch outs on two of the scripts (each using 8 outs per voice)?

Honestly, I'm not sure.

Os, these are great, but were written for the blocks before the seaboard block. Ie: they were meant to be used by a lightpad or several lightpad, instead of the paino like seaboard block.

What will really help me to just be able to do this myself, is a little more explination as to what the script syntax does and means.

Specifically in the below script:

FH-1 script v1
MCV1:1:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV2:2:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV3:3:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV4:4:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV5:5:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV6:6:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV7:7:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV8:8:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV9:9:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV10:10:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV11:11:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV12:12:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV13:13:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV14:14:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV15:15:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV16:16:0-127:C0G1V2A3
This is taking all midi channels and assigning the mono cv converter to it. It is then routing every channel to the same 4 outs. I'm not sure why anyone would want that unless they really only had a mono voice. Am I correct in my assumptions leading up to my opinion?

Figuring this out would help me greatly. Thanks in advance!

The Lightpad Block always produces MPE i.e. it keeps cycling through the MIDI channels. The only way to make sense of that, if you want to play an analogue voice with it, is to have all the MIDI channels output their CVs to the same outputs.

For an actual Seaboard a better option is to turn off MPE and let the FH-1 do the polyphonic thing on a single MIDI channel. There are threads here (not just in the Expert Sleepers forum) covering the Seaboard and the FH-1.

That line as such won't work - the syntax is
Code:
RC9
CC74:1:4
CC113:1:5
CC114:1:6

which says
on incoming MIDI channel 9
remap CC 74 to ch 1 CC 4
remap CC 113 to ch 1 CC 5
remap CC 114 to ch 1 CC6.

Thanks for the early morning response!

I believe I've made sense of it now. The documentation was robust enough, I just needed to reread it.

I'll try to search for the threads you are alluding to. The search function has been busted for a while. The regular seaboard is a little different in that it has an xyz pad and riser controls. So while the midi routing makes sense, it is confusing because of the integration of those parts as the seaboard blocks is just the keys.

Ok this should do the trick:

This script should set the first 5 outputs on teh fh-1 and 3 fhx-1s to be individual voices from the seaboard blocks, and have the last 3 outs on the fh-1 and 1 additional remaining out on the first fhx-1 used for the lightpad block.

Could you just confirm that I have the formatting and everything correct?

Looks OK. It's successfully parsed by the script tool: http://expert-sleepers.co.uk/webapps/fh1_script_generator.html
2disbetter
Yep! Loaded it up and it works after I finally correctly setup the fhx-1s. They were all using the same channel from the fh-1. Quick fix, and viola! Now I just need to finish configuring the lightpad and we're in business.

I'll update the first post with a tutorial of how I set it all up, as well as a more thorough explanation on what all the settings mean, etc.

Thanks again!
