Really creative melodic work and IDM style beat. hyper

I'm nut sure if I've popped my ears or something though or if the mix is lacking. There's almost no bass? Mostly mid and high frequencies? hmmm.....

Thanks, that was the intention.
Can you hear the deep throb that comes in at 8 seconds? You're right that's more mid and high heavy, but there are a lot of deeper frequencies in there--I think my way is to just treat it more as an element of melody and harmony that comes and goes, rather than something that's always there or pulsing (though I'd take an 808 for some of that, please!)
e.g. [s]https://soundcloud.com/chaosnick/s-1[/s]

When I was most of the way through planning this, I had a lot more sub oscillators/frequency mixed in, but I had to dial back as I felt it was obscuring the harmonics in the melody and whatnot more than I'd like. Now that I think about it, almost all of Suzanne Ciani's music has these qualities (and she said she dislikes percussion for the same reason).
