An actual song made with mostly Cwejman S1...

Post by justmcg » Tue Oct 14, 2008 11:36 am

There's a lot of Cwejman s1 demos around but they are usually just single dry sounds being played by a keyboard, or an example of how it's great at making drums with it's super sonic speed envelopes, but I haven't heard anyone use it in an actual song. Anyway, here's a track I am still working on and it's almost all Cwejman s1 (bass, all drums, lead) then the virus TI and guitar to fill in the gaps. Usually when I use the S1, I will write a part then cycle record in logic while twisting knobs on the S1 only slightly...leading to sort of an 8 voice stack.

Anyway, here is the track and the video I made for it:

Ooh, my name is Justin and I like fighter planes and "real" songs. :hihi:

j/k.

I like that track a lot. So, even the hi-hat sound is S1? Pretty cool.

Felix, I am getting in my fighter jet, picking up a pizza from italy, then coming over to play you this 4 hour long wave file I recorded of the sine wave on the S1 slightly drifting out of tune.

Oh Hai,

Can I remix this song with blast beats and a waterphone? How'd you like that?! I already perform with you, next time don't ask about the drum set I'll be bringing.
P.S. I'm borrowing your S1 and your cat for L.A. McGraths in the hizzy!

that is kind, and appreciated

but the truth is that it's a nice forum you guys have over here. I just get to slap my name on it and pay the bills, and you guys make me feel like it's an honor to do this.

seriously you all deserve to give yourselves a pat on the back. thanks everyone for being so cool here, seriously. without all the great attitudes no-one would come here, and because they do come here, it's become a great place

i really feel it belongs more to all of you than to me at this point 8)

Justin, I think you should tell him how you don't use a compressor because the envelopes do all the snapping and transient shaping that you need. Wait, I just did. So tell them something else about it!
