Hi all!
After some extensive searching here I wanted to check in with you all to see where you get your patch cables.

I purchased a 24 pack of cables on Amazon, and though I have not used them, they just "feel" substandard. As a studio owner and musician I use Tsunami custom cables for all my important interconnections (they do not make 3.5mm cables) and they are truly the best cables made. The cables I purchased were Nazca Cables, and they just feel weak and I'm guessing they won't last very long.

Some of the other posts recommended a lot of different manufactures but the links are either dead or the companies don't exist, I have checked inro allelectronics, and a few others mentioned on other posts, but it's one of those things, without holding it in your hand, it's hard to get a gauge on the quality.

So where are the best, high quality patch cables? I prefer colored cables, but am open to any high quality cable. I'm also looking for the ability to bulk purchased save money.
Thanks

My favorite cables, though more expensive, are TipTop stackcables. https://www.perfectcircuitaudio.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=stackcable

Would love to see someone make braided covered cables! For now I have to make my own. If someone would, they would make a killing, at least from me thumbs up

The modular addict cables you look fantastic but yeah they are all out of stock

Yea, i picked up a bunch last time they were in stock. Nice quality for the money.

I've had the Nazca Noodles for a while now- without issue. I like them because of the tiny overmolding fits well with modules with a cramped UI. Also, because they are so flexible, I can easily close the lid of my rack while patched. Maybe try them out BEFORE complaining.. its more fun.

Sorry, but for me, those are gross. Way too 'plasticky'. I have four wires in mine and use a pair for each contact, so I have some failure redundancy if one wire was to fail over time, which will happen!

I had quite a few braided MA cables fail on me early on (maybe 4 out of 25), and they are very thick (obviously; they're braided!). I did get a few MA stackables, and while the plugs are quite high, they are working perfectly.

Makenoise and Intellijel sell cables that are of good quality, although I still have the original kinks in my Intellijel cables (bought 2 years ago).

Maybe the nicest patch cables I bought so far are the generic, non-branded cables sold by Matttech, available in black, green and yellow.

Of course I will try them but I'm not going to buy any more of them because they just feel cheap and poorly made so I'm going to get cables from a few different manufactures and test drive them all

i am seriously tempted to change all of my cables with the control type, i really like them because of the very short connector

I bought some of the original Nazca cables, and about 20 percent were bad (but they replaced them all no questions asked.) I also didn't like the over large size. Haven't tried the noodles. I have tried about every brand available except the MA braided. Would love to have some. I have settled mostly on the Control cables.

Geez, man, what can't you do? I would like to make some of those, do you want to share sources?

Most of my cables have come from Erthenvar. So far, no problems.

Connectors are the high end Rean metal ones, division of Neutrik. I get them here:

The cable, I buy from ebay for USB phone charging, remove the ends, and solder on the connectors with some heat activated shrink wrap.

By far my favorite cables are the ones from Control.

https://www.ctrl-mod.com/collections/cables/products/bt-3-5mm-patch-ca ble

My only gripe about them is that the longer ones (24"+ or so) are kinked. They straighten out a bit, and if you use a heat gun on them they straighten even more, but it annoys me.

TipTop stack cables are nice, but if you don't need the stacking ability, the plugs are very large.

Also, Vintage King sells some very high quality cables with Rean connectors, but they are really spendy. I got a couple free with a module, but I can't bring myself to pay for more.

Intellijel cables are really nice. Like the colours too.

I mostly use these - fairly cheap and surprisingly good quality:

Black Market
Control BT
Nazca Braided

Using mostly Black Market now. I didn't like the Control ones at first but they've started to grow on me since they're easy when patched to move/adjust around not obstructing views.

I really like the ones that come with the Roland System 500, but they cost $5 each, which is obscene. Anyone know where to get them at a reasonable price?

The last couple of time I bought cables were from Deep Surplus - http://www.deepsurplus.com/Home-Theater-Audio-Video/3-5MM-Mono-MM-Cabl es

They look and feel almost identically to AdInfinitum cables but only come in black and only in those three sizes. The prices drop with quantities too. I have a tall system and the 10foot ones are great for those. I cut a few in half to make 1/4" conversion cables too.

Thanks for all the great info and links - ill be buying as few from several vendors to see which ones I like the best.

I purchased two sets of the cloth braided Nazca cables a year ago and have had two of them, both yellow, fail at one end from stress breakage in the past month. I am careful how I pull them out, and have been handling cabling for decades, so I don't think it's from abuse.

In the meantime I have been purchasing the very expensive but quality feeling Tip Top Stackables. That being said the Nazcas felt pretty dang solid as well, so take it for what it's worth. I really like the Stackables though.

Funny thing is I have a shit ton of short black cheapo Chinese made cables I got "free" with module purchases and not one of them have failed yet....

Hmmm...

Very nice job on the braided cable DSC! Perhaps that's the route I should go, but the last thing I want to do after fixing things at work all day is go home and fix things... maybe when I retire.

The longest lasting cables I own are doepfer cables. They're not the best in quality (they kink very easily), but I had no issues with them for over 10 years. hmmm.....
