Unfortunately I still haven't gotten an Ardcore Expander. The one I ordered wasn't in stock after all, so I'm on the lookout again.

:75: :75: :75: :75:

By the way, that vpme.de 6hp oscilloscope is really cool. It's tiny fore sure, but it helped me a lot to "see" what some of the module interactions were doing exactly.

At Superbooth 2018 I soldered a Kitty Eyes module in the Snazzy FX DIY workshop.

The kit also came with the necessary parts for the "slow mod", mentioned on the PCB. Dan said it's experimental and he didn't find it super useful, but because I already own a regular Kitty Eyes I did the easy mod under his supervision.

Here's a very quick waveform comparison between the slow and regular module:

... and an XY output demo showing the slow Kitty with some mild AD envelope CV:

... and a very slow one with random S&H CV:

I agree that the slow Kitty Eyes probably wouldn't be a good module to sell, at least in this state. The Speed knob really only seems to work in the second half of its range and the algorithm either falls asleep very easily or becomes repetitive quickly, if it is not nudged by CV every now and then. Without an XY oscilloscope it's very hard to figure that out at first. BUT if you know all that and want a slower Chua algorithm in your rack that you can interact with, it's really fun. The "falling asleep" bit is also nice for performances, when you don't need modulation all the time. Twisting the Speed knob also works well to start it up again.

There is also a sync mod mentioned on the PCB, which I hope to be able to explore at some point.

For now though, I'm very happy with my two Kittys. Here's a new jam:

Here's a project I had planned for a long time now! An experimental travelogue with noise music from my Snazzy FX system

Put on your headphones, clear 20 minutes of your time and join me on a trip from Seattle to Los Angeles!

Love this video, very atmospheric, just woke up watching it in bed.
What an adventure, the little scenes you describe are wonderful, I'd like to do a trip like this some day.

Thank you very much! I really like driving long distances in the States. There is so much open land that I'm not used to as a European and so many things to discover, apart from the other toppings for one's Subway sandwich .

Thank you! A seemingly simple module which still surprises me is the Kick Me, which can become a huge gnarly drone or act as a CV source too. In the very last segment of the video (driving towards LA), I'm sendng the Kick into the CV input of the Dual Multiplier clean VCA, to control the amplitude of a white noise signal. Running the resulting noise sound through the spring reverb then creates some very natural sounding wet hand claps! Haha :D

Cool! That should take up quite a bunch of your time then. Very deep and weird module, even though it doesn't look that strange ok paper.
