this is amazing and i bow down to your skills.

why a one time run only though?

can you please consider making the pcb/panel available?
what about just the designs so people can print it up?

if you went through all the trouble to design something this radical, why let it end with the X number that are ordered in a 3 week period of time.

i'd consider buying something like this eventually, but i can't afford to spend $2k on an add on unit a month after the holidays.

food for thought. keep wigglin <3

Thank you !

To be honest, doing those video's is a bit difficult for me.
As everyone has clearly noticed by now, I don't have the greatest video-making skills, and it consumes a lot of time doing one. Time which I don't really have...
Furthermore, Vimeo limits my weekly upload to 500MB, and since I don't plan on doing video's for ever, I don't want to "upgrade". Not sure if Youtube is an option.

At the same time, coming up with a video which demonstrates the abilities of the Expander, and at the same time making good sounds, is... a challenge, to say the least. So I hope people understand that it's mostly not about the sounds, but rather about the features of the Expander.

I'll do another one next week, showing the synchronizing features of the Expander, probably one of its most important features. Perhaps I'll do a Eurorack sequencer synced to the Easel thingie...

Thanks all for watching, and the compliments !

Mainly because I need to "bundle" build time. This is not my day-to-day job, so I can't afford to have this spread over a long period of time. Also, this is an expensive thing to build, mostly because of the limited quantities to be build. If I were to leave the ordering "open" throughout a longer period of time, the Expander would become too expensive...
However, never say never, so there *might* be another run in the future, who knows.
ehafh wrote:can you please consider making the pcb/panel available?

This project started in 2013, and was initially intended to be a partial DIY solution. I did finish such a thing, a working solution even, but then decided to cancel it because I simply could/can not afford to be in a constant debugging/support mode, 24/7. Though the basic idea [of the Expander] is rather simple, the execution of it is quite complex, and becomes almost unmanageable when done as a DIY solution (I can show you older prototypes with their hundreds of flywires, if you want). And then there was also that little thing about having power supplies running from the Easel to the Expander... one little mistake, and you're blowing up your Easel. Raising the awkward question: am I then responsible for such a mishap ?
As it stands now, the Expander is a solid build, is reliable, and foolproof. Easier and better for everyone.

Please see answer above.

Well, ehm, I don't know what to say to that. :-)
As for the price, I am sorry that the Dollar is at such a low compared to the Euro. I wish it were not so.
That said, I think the price for the Expander is fair. And, though I'd rather not say this, it is cheap compared to what BEMI has to offer (more to the point, their little Aux Expander costs almost €1000 in Europe).

Can't wait to get mine. I've decided to hold off on "expansion" into 200e until I get a chance to play with this and the Aux Expander I already have.

Congratulations what a beautiful piece of work and a real manual. This may not have been a cheap investment but the quality sure looks like it is worth every penny and more. Look forward to some sounds and I am wondering when my number will come up as I am really excited to what this adds to the 208.......Steve
