Author WARNING! Stay away from Gear4Music.com

I dont do such posts but after having 2 terrible first time experiences with gear4music.com in which they delayed both my orders by months i am notifying others to stay away from this scam online vendor. They dont have items in stock and would make you wait for months for the item to be shipped as it happened with me. Whatever musical instrument you wanna buy online just dont go with them. They also seem to be buying fake good reviews on trustpilot.com to deceive potential customers.

Just dont for this nightmare of a seller or you will regret like me. Mods plzz keep this post up cause i dont want others to get into the hassle i got into.

I’ve bought several eurorack modules from them at a low price, with free shipping. I got them in two days. One module (Clouds) wasn’t for me so they paid for the return shipping and repaid me without hassle.
Shledge
Ordered from there, never had an issue.
Muzone
Ordered many things from G4M with no issues.....

I've used Gear4Music a few times, always been good for me.

Sorry OP, not disputing you have had a bad experience but I too have used Gear 4 Music numerous times and its always been good. They are a reputable store (assuming we are talking about the same UK based vendor).

A) how does one have "2 first time experiences"? You can only be a virgin once.

B) Precisely what did you order?

C) Have you prepaid those orders or did you just order something that happened to be out of stock and now you're pissed off?

If you're expecting everyone here to fall into line with you, then we're going to need far deeper specifics before most of us are willing to light fires, gather pitch forks and torches, and burn the witch. "That company sucks" isn't enough to start a compassion parade to support your claims.

Alright so here is my case.

My first order was a Behringer U-PHORIA UMC202HD USB Audio Interface ordered on 20th November 2017 ( Order no W2199923 ) with shipping date given near 30th November. On 27th November i received an email telling me the shipping date has been delayed to 13th December with which i was ok. Came December and i received a 2nd email telling me that the shipping date has been stretched now to 2nd February 2018, A whole 50 more days and total delay close to near 70 days. I instantly cancelled my order. Its been 32 days and that money is still stuck in the pipeline and will be released on 19th January.

Now come my 2nd order (order no W2318881) which is the Behringer U-PHORIA UMC204HD USB Audio Interface this time. I decided to give them a 2nd chance and asked them about the Behringer 204's availability before i could order so that i dont get the delays this time. I sent the email on 18th December inquiring about the availability of the Behringer 204. On 19th December i got the reply that the product is available and ready to ship. I instantly ordered on the same day ( 19th December). Now comes the 2nd waves of delays. Got my first order delay message on my order no W2318881 on 27th December saying order has been delayed by 1 week. Then got my 2nd order delay message saying order has been further delayed to 10 January and 3 days ago got my 3rd order delay message saying order has been even further delayed to 26 January.

THIS IS JUST A NIGHTMARE FOR A CUSTOMER. SUCH SERVICES SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN ASAP. i CANT DESCRIBE HOW MUCH FRUSTRATED I AM NOW.

Yup, i also recently found out Gear4Music also sends used items labelled as new and often those items are returns from previous orders due to defects. I actually live in a shitty country called Pakistan and audio interfaces are not sold here in first place. Gear4Music was the only site i could find that was shipping to Pakistan.

Btw there have been a large number of complaints from customers on their facebook page in the past few months. Something doesnt seem right here.

yeah I don't believe Behringer would send a product in that kind of condition with fingerprints all over it, it doesn't make sense. Or opened by customs. I don't trust that seller
Shledge
I wouldn't use facebook reviews as a good indicator whether a company is shit or not. People complain REALLY loudly on there over the littlest of things. The company I work for is often slated on facebook despite getting awards for good service and often being considered reputable.

That said, selling B stock as new is a problem. Thomann and a few other companies have done this too:

Whether it is an underhanded business tactic or an honest mistake, I don't know. I wouldn't go as far as saying they're crap, though. I do however know that international shipping is never straightforward, hence why I rarely buy outside the EU.

At the very least, they're sloppy with their inventory. I tried to buy a few Eurorack modules from them last October. Their website said all were available for immediate shipping.

Turns out, some of them were not (they were the regular old Doepfer ones to boot).

This is not unusual. What is a bit unusual is that they then assured me they had at least one of those modules in stock at "their German location" and would send it out in two days, along with the rest of the modules they had in stock. The rest of the order was cancelled. No problem.

Turns out they did not, in fact, have these modules at "their German location". So in the end I had to cancel those too.

I will say this: they refunded the money promptly, so they're probably not a very shady outfit, just, like I said, very, very sloppy with their inventory.

Will not buy from them again.

Identical post is on another music forum.
He's probably paid by the competition.

Sounds like it. Labelling them as "scammers" is a bit much really.

I think the only "issue" I had was I had to wait an extra day for my mantis case to arrive, which was sort of expected really due to it being near christmas at the time.

not entirely true...your porn knowledge level seems to be quite low hihi

They're offering products that aren't available or discontinued, for example Cwejman modules. Not particularly encouraging

This crossed my mind also. Very suspicious bunch of first posts. All on one day, the 11th, and nothing since. And why a Pakistani would label his location as being in India is questionable, although there may be a legit reason for that.
