New Oakley PCB available - Looping ADSR & VCA

Post by Synthbuilder » Wed Jul 28, 2010 3:52 am

I've upgraded our popular ADSR module and changed it a bit:

1. Added looping capabilities with gated and continuous modes.

2. As requested - builders have the option of having the raw un VCA'd ADSR output available. You can still have the inverted version of the VCA output if you wish instead.

3. 16mm pots instead of Vishay 248

4. Dotcom power supply headers.

Scott should be doing some panels for these in our usual 5U format, but we are hoping to have these available in Mu Mu as well.

I've been wearing my MuMu a lot lately so this is really good news.

A very nice enhancement to an already great module! :yay: I have four of the former version, two fully VC, and I use them all frequently.

Yeah, MOTM appears to be a dead format. :(

Thanks for all the nice comments chaps.

No, it will only control one ADSR module at any one time.

I hope not. But the interest in mu mu versions of our modules has certainly been noticed by us. However, I'll be continuing to develop modules that will fit into MOTM panels for the foreseeable future. This generally means that they'll be able to be ported into mu mu without too much hassle. The other way around is not so easy since mu mu offers greater width and less adherence to any sort of grid. Although I've been tweaking the grid in my modules for a while now.

SO MOTM as a format is DEAD!!!!
Must remember to tell all the guys who keep buying stuff from me
Do Paul. S and Scott. D know?

The move to Include MU-MU Modules from Oakley Sound Systems is due to allot of peer pressure from the Guys in MU-MU Land
It is also to increase sales so me and Tony look our wives  in the eye at the end of the financial year and not get a good :spank:

But not to replace any format

The New Looping ADSR/VCA will make it to both formats as soon as we have Panels

I know Scott D is working on the MOTM format panel (cheers Buddy)

And this is going to press with my panel guys as I type

I have 4 Dotcom rack frames waiting to be filled with Oakley MU modules. :tu: Of course, it'll take me years to do that, but at least I'm prepared. :hyper: The new ADSR will surely be one of those modules! Thanks.

BTW - that's a very tasty panel!

Krisp1 - That panel looks great!!

My MU Equinoxe Phaser is one of my favorite modules, is extremely well built, and looks great!

An ADSR in MU with looping capabilities and VCA built-in sounds like another winner as well!

Porting over some of the Oakley Filter Modules into 1U MU format would be great as well. STG seems to be the only manufacturer making MU format filters in a 1U design, we need more!

It's not dead, it just smells funny.

No, not dead, but maybe almost so comparatively speaking sales-wise. The format has two big problems - 1. it's the perfect format for DIY-ers, like myself, who have little or no need to buy pre-made modules and 2. there's been very little cool new stuff from the main player(s) in a long time. These two factors are probably interconnected.

Anyway, there're a lot of motm systems out there, but whether or not that number continues to grow - probably not.

Does the new Looping VCA/ADSR work with the existing CV-ADSR board? Ie. could one already make a looping CV-ADSR/VCA, or does that need some changes in the CV board?

CV of A and D while looping... :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :woah:

Hey I like MOTM format too. But how many modules released in that format in the last three years, compared to MU, compared to Euro? I know Paul has new stuff 'right around the corner...' I know my next cabinet will be MU.
