A Synthi is a Synthi and can't be chopped up into modules. That's all.
Next question please. Mr. Green

ok, so what do the little square sections in the upper left and right hand corners (with the 3 horizontal slots and the switch at the bottom) do?

they look like tiny speaker grills to me. but i' don't recall there being any speakers from the 1970s that were that small and sounded any good... also, i'm somewhat baffled by the 'env' labeling of one of the switch positions - is it for listening to the trapezoid generator at audio rates?

cheers

Are speakers with on/off switches. They don't sound very good but enough to be useful.
When the right switch is set to "env" the signal patched into output channel 2 column trigs the envelope.

ah, i see - cool - thanks papz!

hmm... but you could also chop it like this:

that would be a more complex module though.

No pass module? Generates sound, but keeps it as a secret to itself? razz

I'd like an easel with this on the bottom half. a Veasel...

correct (if you insist on calling it that) - it would be a tone generator (and so not "pass" anything) and not an audio processor.

the level controls would be for a mix output which could be added somewhere. the whole layout looks like it would need to be stretched a bit horizontally anyways, in order to fill two Buchla spaces (which should provide enough room for additional sync amount controls and whatever else).

(of course there would be input jacks for pitch control control, waveshape, etc. and output jacks for audio, if this was actual adapation and not just a pseudo-intellectual exercise to justify the presence of EMS in an otherwise 4U Modules forum)

That reminds of me the MacBeth Elements:

richard
It will only work if you use a chainsaw
papz
It could make a good sound. lol
ersatzplanet
Or you could buy a couple of these:

It of course will not be the same ergonomically if you don't have the Matrix, but it will sound close enough and will work better with your other modular gear.
