Lightpipe to MIDI

Hi all,

I'd like to get whatever Eurorack modules I need to get stable MIDI from a lightipe connection. If you don't mind answering a couple of questions as I'm totally new to Expert Sleepers modules, I'd be grateful!

1) Which modules do I need? I need 24 MIDI outs.
2) I use Silent Way to interface Ableton Live with the modules. Do I use one SW instance per MIDI port? Or how does it work?
3) Can I use the same lightpipe connection to have CV+Gate outputs as well as MIDI?

Do you mean 24 individual hardware MIDI ports? Or 24 channels (on a smaller number of ports)?

Hi Os,

I meant 24 individual hardware MIDI ports.

Then you would need

- an ES-3
- an ES-5
- three ESX-8MD

One plug-in instance per MIDI port.

You can use the remaining channels on the ES-3 for CVs and the ES-5 for gates.

Thank you!

I just placed an order for these modules on Schneidersladen. A couple of things are out of stock so I have to wait a bit - but that's okay.

Are there any special cables or anything also need to be ordered to make this little ensemble work together?
os
Just a TOSlink cable.
