Check out The Drop by Cytomic. I just demo'd it and it sounds great with a wide range of options. Love to hear other people's opinions.

Someone tried the new Matrix-12 multimode filter from Arturia ?

Most of the time I only use ableton ones...
There are high quality, distinctive and special multimode filters coming with Reaktor's legacy library, and from the reaktor user library too.

I thought Ableton used cytomic filters, no?

The good old Waldorf D-Pole is still pretty damn amazing after all these years. Plus its got its own drive/distortion, and even has a weird Ring Mod/Bitcrusher section as well that can make some pretty cool metal clang sounds. Oooh and a delay section too. Not sure how close it is to their old analog hardware version the X-Pole or whatever it was called, but I love it.

Ill have to check out the Fabfilter now. I dig their ProQ2. Until recently it seems theres always been a serious lack of filter plugins out there (maybe I just missed them??). Logic had their old Auto-Filter, but that thing sucked. I did get the Arturia Mini filter when they gave it away, but yep, its another Moog filter alright heh. A Wasp plugin would be REALLY awesome (hint hint devs!!)
Xmit
I've grabbed the 3 Arturia fliters recently : both the SEM & M-12 ( SVF / multimode ) are excellent.

the sequencer sections are superb & the overall sound quality is great.

Don't know if that counts but I really like the filters included Softube Modular and Reaktor Blocks.

You're right! I thought they were AAS-designed, but they're Cytomic designed (https://www.ableton.com/en/manual/live-audio-effect-reference/). Likewise, Glue Compressor and EQ8 are designed in collaboration with Cytomic.

Analog, Tension, and Collision were designed in collaboration with AAS.

The Reaktor Blocks LPG is great for adding dynamics to material sourced from self built (mostly handmade electronics) oscillator circuits.

For more traditional filter duties, TAL Dub X is great. Maybe not the best filter in itself, but paired with the delay and LFO it can really liven things up. Cheap, too.

Cytomics The Drop is best of all that I've used

Me too, by far.

Cytomic The Drop, by far the best software standalone filter i have tried.
*And ive tried them all.

It even has CV inputs so you can do FM of the filters nanners

The Drop has a Wasp model already, it’s called WSP.

Interestingly, I have Cytomic The Glue and it seems to be much better than Ableton Glue. I don't have any particular idea why that would be, I'm guessing it's either the Ableton device wrapper or Cytomic kept some coding tricks out of the Ableton version.

Or it's psychoacoustic nonsense happening inside my brain.

designed this Dual multimode SVF (State Variable Filter) VST recently
whilst doing some experiments & subsequent virtual tests
preparing for building same basic thing in hardware
with 2xSteiner Parker Synthacon SVF filters
using this creation on most everything now
because it turned out Awesome for my purposes
especially with samples, synths, noise, & percussive beats tracks
made input do the ms20 ESP trick
for injecting CV from f/c audio input into the Filters frequency
also introduced "circuit ground bleed" with resonance cranked
plus added some gain distortion on all the filter outputs
kicks increasing when FM(Frequency Modulation) is at 8 and above
Obviously it's based on the "Sherman Filter Bank" manuals
thus why it's named "Panzer Filter Tank"
Stereo or Mono operation as insert
LFO is BPM sync with host from 32b to 1/32
now the final Mark IV non prototype version
sounds/responds like analog VCF circuit
with "optional" wild overdriven self oscillations
Extreme Noise Maker
works wunderbar for me smile

PSP Stomp Filter . Not quite as convincing as The Drop , but its decent and a bargain at $19 until tomorrow.

Had to go sign up on your forum the other day so I can keep an eye out for your plugins hehe. If the Gristleizer ever makes it to AU I am all over that thing!
HighLordFixer
look at my blog page for news/updates http://www.n01ze.com/Muzak/
sort been slacker recently because of too much time "wigglin"
finished another project today for NoiseGuide
thanks for the inspiring feedback responses

The n0ize website should have an epilepsy warning... Dead Banana Are those plugins available?

No need for AU, VSTs are just as good and sometimes better, and Apple proprietary formats should be rejected on principle.

In your opinion. And it rather depends on the users choice of host.

Uh yeah sure let me just drop the recording setup Ive been using since 2000 or so just because YOU said so. Funny, if AU is an Apple "proprietary format" how come other manufacturers make AU versions of their plugins? This in the same sense also means Steinbergs VST is a "proprietary format" doesn't it? Better trash all those VSTs man!
