||Fact Mag - Against the clock with Albert Van Abbe
| br>Hey dear Wigglers,
Here is a very interesting episode of the famous Against the clock
If some of you could explain more about that beautiful modular synth he is using, that would be awesome I never saw this before ! br> br>
| br>Good one. It's really interesting to see an environment like this in action, especially since it is re-contextualized in a way. Are these all devices from Bruel & Kjaer and Hewlett Packard? BNC patching must be funny.
I was a little bit surprised when he said that using pulses to excite filters would be weird from a modular synthesizer standpoint. Pretty standard I would say, even from a more general standpoint. I mean, the 808 kick he mentions his also just an excited filter. br> br>

Most of it is indeed Bruel & Kjaer and Hewlett Packard. BNC patching I found not as easy as minijacks obviously, but not that much different. It's a joy using those systems and very enlightening. I learned a lot during the 3 courses I did there. Hope to do some in the near future again, they expanded on both equipment and courses recently. br> br>
| br>As this started I thought this is cool... pink socks! Signal generators. Discarded cable!
But then half way in it stalled, and I felt it didn't have half the textural intensity that, say, a Raster Noton release would have.
Nonetheless, I really like what FACT magazine is doing with these. As someone largely disconnected from the world of techno - it connects me. br> br>
