Xaoc Devices presents:

ZADAR
1973 Quadruple Envelope Generator

Very mature prototype units available on Superbooth18, table E220!

· Four indepenent channels
· More than 200 unique shapes
· Cycle time range: 0,08ms to 20 sec.
· Shapes can be radically modified in two dimensions
· Complex envelope looping and chaining features
· Assignable CV inputs to cotrol almost every parameter
· Preset slots
· 10hp
· Approx. 290 EUR

Based on the general idea of synthesis by deformable vector shapes, Zadar allows you to choose from a wide variety of envelope functions, designed to suit pretty much any possible usage scenario. From basic and simple to complex transients, from looped modulation cycles to rhythmical patterns, from quasi-randoms to perfectly regular functions, natural envelopes extracted from various acoustic and electronic instruments, abstract fractals and physical models, etc. — they all work great as envelopes but also as stepped sequences, LFOs, resonator exciters and so on.

Starting with one of (literally) hundreds of shapes defined by freely scalable vectors of breakpoints stored in the memory, envelopes can be tweaked and adjusted to the heart’s content. Each shape consists of up to a thousand of segments, and it may be warped in time and amplitude, reversed, stretched from a fraction of milisecond to about 20 minutes, and of course attenuated. By manipulating these parameters you can easily obtain a plethora of new shapes, but it doesn’t end here.
Envelopes can be repeated, looped, chained and each channel sports a freely assignable CV input, allowing for most of the above mentioned transformations to be externally controlled as well.

Operating Zadar is quick and straightforward thanks to the set of four “endless” encoders. Menu diving has been reduced to minimum, and is actually only needed for the advanced settings. A crisp OLED screen provides the necessary visual feedback in real time. All the settings can be stored and organised in preset slots.

There are plans for even more functions to be added in later firmware revisions. Also, a small but very useful Nin expander module is planned, sporting yet another set of individual, assignable CV inputs and manual trigs for each channel for better tweaking comfort.

More detailed info to be posted here soon!

Hmm... time to sell the omnimod?

I don't know, this seems a different thing, lots of shapes, and the shapes can be altered in time, level, etc, but you're not able to adjust various portions of it in real time.

I'm thinking a little closer to Double Andore Mk I, which I still wouldn't sell.

Looking forward to demos and the manual for this one. Another interesting Xaoc module!

Xaoc knock it out of the park as always. Definitely going into consideration for my rack.

I'm loving this. Was still shopping a quad env for the E370. This looks like it could be the one. How big will the expander be? Please say 4hp! Will it also offer eor outputs?

Watching this closely as well smile

just wow thumbs up zombie

we're not worthy I may have to rethink my system. Lots of great stuff getting announced lately.

Wow Xaoc certainly has my attention. I'm exploring my need for a Denzo and Lispk right now... That Batumi blew my ass out of the water and I didn't realize how much my Fourmulator needed this thing in it's life. Well hell it's inspiring me to wanna buy a second Maths. These modules have great build quality and I'm loving how intuitive they are a breeze to learn. Once you get going it's easy to be recursive and get similar results. I'm hoping Denzo will be like this, but I'm such a fan of random and slot machine kinda luck there is a chance this will wind up in one of my systems. I won't say similar, because we all know once you throw a few modules at Batumi it can go off the wall in a hurry and it's certainly a goal sometimes. twisted

Not so long ago, the QBit Contour came out I thought it was a meaningful increment over the long standing "standard" quad envelope generator, Quadra. So I bought one.

But I'm finding it big for what it offers, so I was kinda excited when I saw early pictures of the Malekko Quad Envelope. And the Klavis looked almost equally interesting.

But now this!! MY ASS IS BLEEDING we're not worthy MY ASS IS BLEEDING we're not worthy

love my Batumi. does much in small space without being crowded.

adding nother quad module from Xaoc seems like a natural progression..

PS interesting choice of name - my cottage is in outskirts of Zadar..

I'm so all about this. I was evaluating my needs for a versatile envelope generator and this takes that to a whole new level! Can't wait to see and hear more!

Thinking of the exact same thing myself.... nanners

Beautiful. I was using an o_C to do this but I'd love to see the 200 possible shapes.

Looking forward to seeing how the editing takes place!

Awesome... I was this close to pull the trigger on the omnimod...

Will it be possible to sync the module via an incoming clock ? (for enveloppes time and lfos)

been waiting for this one! looks awesome. can't wait to see a demo.

this looks great. any eta?

Cool, I ll have a look on this one tomorrow love

This looks reallly interesting. I'd been considering replacing my 4ms quad pingable lfo since that hadn't been fitting my needs as well as i'd hoped - this seems like a really cool option as well. Just wondering what price will be on this.

Modulargrid says $325, not sure if this is accurate.
