Logic Pro with ES-3 ES-5 ESX-8MD ESX-8GT

Hello!

I did some changes in my studio and now I have the following modules in their latest releases:

ES-3
ES-5
ESX-8MD
ESX-8GT

If I use them in Live 10 everything works, it's easy to understand how to set them up.

From time to time I have to work in Logic Pro X and I have no luck!

As long as I use only ports 1-6 of the ES-3 everything is OK but trying to use the expanders is cause of great frustration.

Let's say that I have an empty project. I load an instrument track with SW ES-5 Controller. I choose exactly the same settings as in Live 10 but I don't get what I expect.

The output of the channel with the SW ES-5 Controller plugin is routed to ES-3 outputs 7-8. In the plugin, in the Gates area, I choose 1 Chan = 1 and 1 Base = 48. Now I play on my keyboard and every single key between 48 and 55, instead of just sending a gate to out 1-8 of the ES-5, causes many of the leds of the ES-5, 8MD and 8GT to light.

Here there is some sort of problem with Logic Pro because, as I said, with Live 10 I don't have any problem.

Is there a special setting, a trick, to get the expansions working into Logic?

I use
ES-5 to send 4 analog clocks/resets to 4 external sequencers
ESX-8MD to send MIDI notes, MIDI Clock and DIN Sync
ESX-8GT to trigger some drum modules

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Have you read http://expert-sleepers.co.uk/siwacategories.html ?

Hi!

Yes I have read that but it can be that I didn't understand...

Please correct me if I am wrong:

I have an interface of Category A since I have a RME Fireface 800.

My DAW is Category 2 since it's Logic Pro.

So my case is 2/A so no limitations.

Logic Pan Law

"If 'Apply...' is on, Silent Way needs to know ....."

In my case 'Apply...' is OFF so this part is not applicable.

I attach a pic. In this case I am trying to send MIDI notes to my ES-5.

Am I right till here? Thank you!

os
Looks OK.

Is the track at 0dB on the fader, & stereo? No other tracks routed to 7/8?

Hi!

That was the problem!

For some reason, in the mixer some tracks were not shown but they existed in the environment.

I am no Logic expert but I can recommend to always check the environment.

Thank you OS for helping me out. Now everything is working as expected.
