Author Ritual Electronics - Miasma

It was well hidden in the Squarp Instruments case at Superbooth 18, but it was there. Ritual Electronics' first module, Miasma.

Miasma is a nasty distortion with an industrial character. It has a built in feedback loop in which you can place other effects. The module has interchangeable rectification diodes to expand its sonic palette. Swap diodes and go from surgical distortion to fat fuzz (it ships with 8 diodes, from germanium to LEDs).
Miasma can be your ally for harsh and industrial tone but you can also dial it down using the dry / wet knob, making it a versatile sound design tool.

Controls

    Gain control up to +20dB
    Feedback VCA
Blend control between dry and wet signal
Attenuverters with centre detent on Gain and Feedback CV
Level trimmer to adjust the output volume

Technical characteristics

OTA based VCAs for gain and feedback control
Feedback output jack is normalized to the feedback input jack
One rectification diode per waveform polarity, making it possible for symmetrical or asymmetrical distortion
Diodes can be swapped in and out without the need of tools

It is handbuilt in Paris by yours truly, and available now from http://ritualelectronics.com - in a bit at retailers I hope !

Or send one to DIvKid or Mylarmelodies, and triple your sales... hihi

Looks interesting. I love the plague doctor on the pcb. Definitely would like to hear it in action.

Cheers ! It seems we can't integrate Instagram videos in here, but make sure to check this link : https://www.instagram.com/ritualelectronics/
Lots of 60 seconds demos in there !

Looking forward to picking up mine next month.

Sounds amazing. Gonna wait for that Casper module probably.

First of all, there is finally a manual for Miasma!
Here it is: https://ritualelectronics.com/doc/miasmarev1.pdf

Also, there is a Divkid video coming up soon. It will be a lot better than my 30s harsh Instagram ones

Indeed video is to come in the not too distant future smile

Mine showed up yesterday. This thing sounds AMAZING!

Yeah, I saw Ben's video a few days ago and put it straight on my wish list. My rack doesn't have a distortion yet, and this one ticks all the boxes. Congratulations on an awesome module!

Will these end up available at dealers in the U.S.?

I’d love to grab one but it’s a costly prospect to order direct.
Crimesofthecrown
This thing rips hard. It's like instant steroids.

FYI, these are currently 15% off on reverb, from signal sounds:

Signal Sounds has an ebay store setup as well. I paid slightly less with the ebay code yesterday. Cheapest option to get these in the USA I've seen.
re-Verse
Really cool look.

Picked one of these up last week. Utterly huge sounding. Mine only shipped with 2 diodes (red LED's) but Ritual Sounds is going to send the missing diodes along (hopefully soon).

Thanks, I grabbed one and there’s one left at that price. Ben Hec demo sounded great. Looking forward to experimenting with the feedback loop.

Anyone having issues with the volume boost on the blend? Seems like it might be hard to tame the volume boost when automating the blend.

It's not a deal breaker for me, just wondering.

The dry sound isn't just the normal dry sound if you split the signal and compare the two. So I've tried to exploit the lower dry volume with the blend down in my patching so far.

Can the "level" trimmer be used to adjust exactly that?
uniquepersonno2
Yep, need this. Ordering one soon as I can. LOVE the PCB!

PCB issss beautiful. i love the front panel too. so clean and pretty.

i looooove the RML Elektron Custom Fuzz, but i just don't have room for it in my main case. been using the HiGain, which is GOOD, but really miss feedback.

this looks so perfect and beautiful. ordered, now ALL THE WIGGLY IMPATIENCE.
behndy
the Basimilus into Miasma into Morgasmatron here for the steady thumpy feedback kick thoughout this -
