Retro Mechanical Labs Electron Fuzz Custom Studio

Post by noisejockey » Thu May 17, 2018 5:22 pm

This unit just arrived. It's two EFC's in one 3U enclosure, with some extra controls not on the EFC. Shallow, and has balanced XLR I/O on the back side, switchable on the front to front Hi-Z I/O on 1/4" jacks.

Dave Smith Instruments OB-6 into both channels, running in stereo.
TR-606 into channel 2, which is sent in series to channel 1.

Wow, it sounds awesome! I'm also awaiting a device from RML, and that just made me even more eager to get it!

Bumping an old thread... just got one of these a few weeks ago and I'm blown away. I'm also surprised it doesn't get more love here. I actually got a couple pedals at the same time. I love em! Here's an IG link and a couple YT clips:

Dirt

I want to buy a dual EFC, but can't decide between the Dual EFCCV Combo and the Custom Studio.
Dear Custom Studio users, does the new biasing mode ("New Biasing mode: For more conventional decay response." -> http://www.rmlfx.com/?p=1747) has changed your life? Is it worth the higher price?

Thanks!

I have a Dual EFCCV and I think it is very hard to make any improvement on it. It's a perfect unit, in my opinion.
