Sneaky sequence.

Post by wetterberg » Tue Oct 28, 2008 8:50 pm

So this is the first track I've finished with my new-found love of pc->cv goodness.

http://wetterberg.dk/tracks/wetterberg. ... ar.jam.mp3

Computer (maxMSP) is outputting gates and pitch, plus an LFO and the filter adsr.

Doepfer 110->VC Wave Mult -> 132-3 lin/exp vca-> Xtreme filter -> 189-1 bit killer

One row of the a-143-1 is triggered by the 828, ALL other modulation comes directly from the computer.

A bit of reverb is added in the box, apart from that it's dry.

Cool! Am I hearing the bit killer during the parts with the quick attack and release?

it's more or less all over it, hehe. You really here it in the decaying notes where the bit depth is way low, and of course at 1:41 - 1:52.

Oh man, this is almost acid at parts. Killer!
Love how your drums sound.

Radness :sb: Let's hear it again.
Initiate the sequence, create catastrophe.

Fucking amazing man... Straight up! Reminds me of my old beat material, but a lot faster.

NICE! Reminds me quite a lot of Soulwax gone a lot more sinister.

thank you guys! :hail:

I was going for that acid bleepy sound, for sure - the sequencer would randomly do slides, so that's definitely part of it.

- running out of minijack->jack adaptors, need to solder up some new cables.

Thanks for listening! :coffee:

thanks! I work as a sound designer in a teeny tiny company, and we've just spent litteraly a FULL week slicing, cropping, truncating, looping old breakbeats for internal use.

The "squeeze" or "suction" on the drums is from a 3-band compander I use a lot. Most of the fancy rolls are from Ableton Live's Beat Repeat ;)
