Author Q: American power strips vs European voltage adapters

At the risk of spoiler-alerting, I may play in Europe this fall, and I'm from California. I'll have at least four or five AC 110V units to plug into European power, so the most convenient thing would be to bring a power strip and just plug that into an adapter, instead of an adapter per music box.

Is there any risk in doing it this way? Who's toured Europe from the US and managed such things successfully?
Kent
I think that you need to look into step-down transformers. Some of them don’t get along with power strips and will throw the breakers that supply them current.

It could make more sense to buy the appropriate 220V power supplies for your gear.

This is a complex subject and I’d be happy to discuss it with you over Skype as we’d need more info as to what you are bringing and where you shall perform.

Drop me a PM if interested.

You are a gentleman, Sir Kent. Thank you. PM'd!

You can buy a simple transformer and don't worry about it.
