Er, that's Window Transform Function.

Surprised no one's mentioned it here. I'd put my money down now but it's spent! I'll pick one up later though, I've wanted to see something like this for years.

It's up on Kickstarter:

...and Divkid did a video:

WOW THAT'S FUN!!!!!

Looks like a really cool and interesting idea. I thought it was going to be Wavetable-esque, but this seems very different.
strangegravity
Uhhh very cool

There's a thread in the general modular section but not seen one here in euro. Thanks for sharing my video by the way.

Paula from Dove Audio gave me a cool trick for a sort of "super pulse" which I've filmed a patch for and will share next week (no time to edit this week).

There's some nice updates coming to the project soon too. Watch the kickstarter page for those.

I've no added "wavetables" to both front and rear waveforms, which takes this oscillator to a whole new level.
Here's a quick video showing the features.

We're now 96% funded, so just need 2 more pledges and we can make this happen!

And HP size reduced as well!
Double Plus Good. Very interested.

Looks and sounds very very nice (especially visually the mu version).
I wonder if one could patch something similar with a couple of oscillators and an select2 module though, perhaps worth a try smile
spinalbeatz
Picked one of these up and I must say the amount of tones you can get out of it is pretty impressive. Plus having a screen to view your waveforms makes it really fun to sit around and experiment with.

It´s a module that´s very fast to work with, it sounds great and "pure" - an excellent building block made for further processing.
Not so many options that usually are crammed into digital oscillators but that´s alright, since you work faster with it this way. we're not worthy

Thanks @spinalbeatz % @default for the input.

It does sound very impressive, the only thought I am having is whether the "windowing" is adding a very specific character to the module making it sonically less flexible.

Btw does anyone know whether this is based on an nto oscillator and generally what is the situation with aliasing?

It's a really interesting idea, but I am wondering, is it sounding that great and original ?
The oscilloscope view steals the show a bit in my opinion.

I would be really curious to :
- hear audio demos (sound without being polluted by the image)
- know if it can act as an LFO, because this is were, intuitively, I would imagine the best results.
spacenoodle
I suppose you could this with an audio rate switch. Combined with an oscillator featuring multiple waveforms and oscilloscope, you've sorta got the same thing no?

Sputnik Selector comes to mind. I think my a152 would be too clicky.

Not really. Keeping phase and "windowing" could be tricky.
spacenoodle
All the waveforms are already in sync, windowing from PWM. Idk, sounds simple enough!

I'll try to record some audio on Mon or Tuesday for everyone.
peripatitis
Here the window happens within the "cycle" of the waveform. If you would take an arbritary wavetable oscillator synth and a window comparator your results would probably not be in sync compared to the wtf. Of course what sonically difference this provides, it is difficult to tell.

I do wonder though how a specific sound sounds scaled up in the various octaves. Is the effect less pronounced?

@spinalbeatz: it would be grand if you can record some audio
thumbs up
Illwiggle
Considering pulling the trigger on this one. But there aint many demos or testimonials out there....
