Author es8 recording pitch cv in ableton live

Apologies if this has already been covered. i tried searching but couldnt come up with much. i wanted to experiment with recording note cv into ableton via es8, but playing back what i have recorded the notes are out of tune. is this expected? is there more to it then using the dc coupled es8 or do have some user error?

thanks
os
The ES-8 inputs and outputs are not calibrated. You would need to apply small scales & offsets to get the exact same voltages in & out. (The SW Function plug-in is one option for that.)

If you put the ES-8 in the chain to begin with, you will always hear the same thing live & recorded.

E.g.

Code:

sequencer -> ES-8 in -> DAW -> ES-8 out -> VCO

not

Code:

sequencer -> VCO
            \---> ES-8 in
