i love my serge :-)

I am looking into a way to make buchla style wood panels that open and close on a 4 boat serge.

working on something similar, but for euro.

It's tricky, for sure.

yes, I've been over those. There are two things "wrong" with those projects:

1) glassX did boats that were only 5cm deep. no-go for most formats, even euro, which traditionally are quite shallow. I don't want to do an all-cwejman rig.
1b) *if* you then say, alright, the boats are now 10cm deep, then the design needs to change quite a bit to accomodate that.

2) It's a clone. I'd like to "invent" something of my own that is inspired by the buchla system instead.

Anyone own a TKB? Is it as awesome as I'm assuming it is?

I do. Yes, it's pretty awesome. Horizontal and vertical sequencing with independent clock inputs, capacitance sensitive touch pads that output independent voltages for each key press and 'pressure', built-in random function, individual gate outputs. The only thing missing that would make it 'perfect' in my mind, would be full VC control of direction like the Milton. It has a direction pulse input, however. I'm using it as a voltage programmer more than a sequencer lately.

The Sequencer shop panel is excellent, too, and they definitely complement one another.
