Replacing 10-pin cable connecting ES-3 & ES-6?

Author Replacing 10-pin cable connecting ES-3 & ES-6?

I'd like to have my ES-3 and ES-6 at opposite ends of my case, but am currently unable to do so b/c the 10-pin cable included with the ES-6 is quite short. Is there anything special about the 10-pin cable included with the ES-6, or can I replace with any 10-pin cable of sufficient length? For that matter, can I use a standard 16 pin cable? Pretty sure I have a couple 16 pin cables on hand, whereas I'd need to order an extra 10 pin cable.

Thanks for your help!

You can use any standard IDC cable, but you can't make it arbitrarily long. Watch out for glitches if you use a long cable - but you'll have to experiment to see what you can get away with.

Thank you sir! FWIW this is a pretty small case, 6U 84hp. So hopefully that won't be a problematic length but I'll test it and we shall see. Thanks again for your help os!
