E-drum module recommendation

Author E-drum module recommendation
Since the search doesn't bring up anything recent...

There are some Roland V drum pads sitting in my storage since ages. I want to get them running, so I would appreciate some recommendations.

The sheer diversity of these Roland drum brains is...confusing!

It seems either I go for a decent sound engine included - or a simpler brain to act solemnly as a trigger converter to play my other gear?

Maybe have a look at the TD-17 brain. It uses the same technology that was used only in their flagship TD-50 before but the TD-17 is cheaper. It's also very user friendly.
After sifting through databases for nights I settled on the TD-6V.

The choice of sounds look sufficient, it's obviously way easier to program than the TD-7, has separate inputs for the trigger cables (as opposed to most others)...and the price was hard to beat.

140€ incl. mounting plate, complete cables, wall wart, manual and postage... Mr. Green
