OR gates in 5U or MU?

Author OR gates in 5U or MU?

I was wondering, since I realized these would be ideal to combine different divisions into interesting gate patterns, what the options are for OR gates in our beloved format?

Lower West Side ( Flareless here at Muffs ) have a Mu version of the CGS36

Yes, that's where I got the whole idea in the first place Mr. Green

But then I'd have to get 2u of things I already have or won't use, and one OR gate. Which would normally only require 3 Jack inputs of real estate meh

I use a K311A logic module.

Got my eye on the upcoming STG Logic module, only cause sometimes I hanker after a S/H module.

STG says coming after a few other things, so dont wait for it but keep a eye out.

An OR gate is a mixer with two state output, either on or off. You may be able to just run them together into a multiple but it's probably best not do that as some outputs are not symmetrical and don't like to be shorted to another output directly.

So send the gates into a normal mixer and the output will be effectively an OR function. Using two +5V gate outputs will get you +10V when they are both on, and +5V when only one is on, but the module taking this input doesn't care whether you have +5V or +10V - it will treat any positive voltage as an active gate.

Only one output and no sexy der blinkenlights cry but the Q961 Sequencer Interface has tons of inputs plus timing delay section. Moderately priced as well! thumbs up

The Modcan Boolean 24B is a nice typical smorgasbord of logic functions. love

There is one on Muff's BST section: screaming goo yo

I didn't have room for mine in my Modcan rack so I repaneled it to be black. hihi

That's a really nice one! Nearby, small in size, modestly priced, lots of options... And a XOR is very nice to have for rhythmic variations as well.
Never heard of this manufacturer, though... Amazing. Thanks!

I'm thinking, in the area of alternatives, a switch could help as well, to get some more interesting patterns from divider outputs.

I have two and they are great. Clock divider works with all audio signals I have sent into it so far. You can do wild shit with the clock divider like send a square wave to a band pass filter, filter out everything but the third harmonic, and send the third harmonic through the clock divider to get a signal with pretty close to an exactly 3:2 ratio to the original signal. Or grab a different harmonic or division to make different cool ratios

SSL may be coming out with a gate combiner for the V-Gates module. It would probably offer 8 inputs with on/off/left&right switches and two outs. Let Doug know if you're interested. I made a passive version of this and it's pretty awesome! Among other things, it turns the V-Gates into an 8 step gate sequencer!

Now that's some advanced wiggling...
I like your thinking cool

Oh man, that's so cool! I have to try that myself. Crap... I only have 1 CGS36 right now cry very frustrating

Thanks for the kind shout-outs guys!

Could easily make your own with jacks and diodes. Very simple to make.

man.. I read that as 'jacks and dildoes.. '
I am a little disappointed right now.. evil
