Mutron bi phase clone - anyone built this?

Author Mutron bi phase clone - anyone built this?

So I stumbled upon this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLuYzyY7S9s

I emailed the guy making these pcbs and got the following reply:

Yes I sell the pcb´s worldwide as a set for DIY builders. It costs 60 euros or 80 euros predrilled(it´s a lot of holes!). That includes the pcb´s, component lists, component layouts, all original schematics, manual and continuous help through email during the build. The faceplate itself is just a plate of aluminium, with vinyl stickers for the orientation. A set of stickers costs 2 euros extra.

Any questions just ask!

Question is are there any unobtainable components?

It sounds lovely

Nice one

The only unobtainable bits in the Bi-Phase are the opto cell things, I am pretty sure. You have to make your own, but it is possible.

The original probably had the same Hamamatsu dual vactrols as the Mutron III did, unobtainium. But you can replace them with Silonex duals (also harder to get these days).

this is well-documented:

Ok just got the bom, no rare parts at all, 0.5w resistors all over.

The only component you have to choos with care are the LDR´s: high off Ohm: over 500kOhm, low on: as close to 0 as possible: a couple of kOhm is fine. I use LDR 07 and use yellow LED´s.

Oh and the optocouplers: 4x Silonex NSL-32.

A complete cart including the octocouplers was available via newtone-online.nl by emailing them on request.
