Faking wavetable morphing with the General CV

Post by emilng » Fri Jan 18, 2019 2:50 pm

I was watching this video
on getting wavetable-like morphing using analog oscillators and was wondering if it were possible using the General CV.

I don't have a Doepfer A-144 morphing controller, but I do have an ES-8 and Reaktor. Here's what I ended up doing:

set General CV to Programmable Mode
map CC A to Channel 1, CC mode, Number 7 to control volume, CV 1
map CC B to Channel 2, CC mode, Number 7, CV 2
map CC C to Channel 3, CC mode, Number 7, CV 3
map CC D to Channel 1, Program mode, CV 4
map CC E to Channel 2, Program mode, CV 5
map CC F to Channel 3, Program mode, CV 6
assign Note A, B, and C pitch to CV 7
assign Note A, B, and C gate to CV X

In Reaktor, hook up an LFO to a Distributor module which allows sending a value between a certain number of outputs. I have those outputs going to CV 1, 2, and 3. I have another LFO in triangle mode going to CV 4, 5, 6 to gradually change the programs.

I was able to get the below results:
