Has anyone built the PS6 case kit? I'm looking for a power supply to put into it. What did you use?

Thanks,
diophantine
I've built a couple, and pretty sure I used what is recommended in the build docs, namely HBB15-1.5-AG.

Can confirm this is the one you want, either HBB15-1.5-A or AG (mine's the A not sure of the difference).

It's a nice clever design, with the above PS the mounting holes line up with the standoff's in the R*S chassis. The aluminum shell of the module faces down with the internals skyward - (potentially better thermal dissipation?). In the past I'd built a couple of fairly hacky power-one core supplies and it had never occurred to me to mount them like that.

Do you already have the case? It looks like they are sold out! sad banana

If you can't find one you could always make one like this guy did? hihi

Good. I know that supply. I have one in a 5U case.

I didn't find any build docs on the site. Can you point me to a link?

One more question: Does the kit have everything, the connectors and the power inlet/fuse/switch?

Thanks,

The steel case is sold out, but the aluminum is available. Yes, ha ha, that guy. I'm hoping to avoid the trouble, because I'm building for someone else this time.

The kit only has the enclosure, PCB, standoffs, feet, and screws. You'll need to source everything else - Mouser parts #s are in the build guide.

Thanks. Missed that somehow. This makes me rethink buying that enclosure, because mainly the benefit is that I don't have to make my own holes in some much less expensive little box.

I wondered if some switched PSUs might fit as well.

Like Meanwell ones, for instance?
What are the dimensions of the enclosure?

KONSTANT LAB - CIHLA - External power supply for Serge synthesizers

From the website:

Inside of rigid metal enclosure is PCB with electrical components, toroidal transformer, heatsink etc. On one side of enclosure is power inlet for main voltage with power switch...

Price: 400€

I use it and it´s SOLID!

Looks like the ZDROJ Backcase Linear Power Supply in a box, except CIHLA doesn't have +5V. Both are interesting.

I built one and it was pretty easy, and as teleport says - clever design. There is a build thread over in Music DIY: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=112316&highlight=

the downside is more than two boats and you are on the limit...wondering way there are five outlets cool
