Author big knobs - where?

I'm pretty good at scouring sites like Mouser and Digikey for parts, but I've been coming up short on this particular quest.

I need a big knob. 3-4" at least. Something like you see on old function generators, preferably with a single dot or line for indication.

Thoughts or ideas?

I recommend:

Should be something there, like this?

Pricey tho!

You can find that sort of dial at Surplus Sales of Nebraska, but beware of putting a large knob on a small modern pot. The extra torque and leverage will rip up the tracks of most pots unless the shaft has a bearing.
Most of those old oscillators had a knob on a Jackson Bros. ball drive which then drove a pot or vaned capacitor. You can still buy the ball drives new on eBay.
