||Old banana jacks with tension washers (like early Serge)
| br>I'm in the process of reviving two Ed-Lab 700 systems. These use the old banana jacks with the star-shaped tension ring/washer/retainer things, like you often see on early Serge systems.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, you can see them on Ken Stone's pics of the La Trobe Serge restoration project:
At least one of these Ed-Labs will get all new jacks. But on the other I'm considering keeping it original, and replacing broken jacks with jacks from the other unit. So I'm curious:
What's the easiest way of removing these jacks?
Can they be re-installed?
And if so, what's the best way? br> br>
| br>Well, it’s about what you might expect. You can pry them off carefully and reuse them but there is some wear and tear. You might break one. All in all I’d think it’s worth replacing them with Pomona jacks. br> br>
