Hey guys, anybody knows which part should i use now to replace the 1090NS mentioned http://pugix.com/synth/inline-attenuators/ by pugix? Would love to make a small box of these...
ClausF
Pugix says: So here I have used a 1M audio taper pot as a series resistor.

So an 1M log pot will do the job. Anyway, it's for CV so I would use a 1M lin pot.

Thanks smile

I'm going to build some of these too.

Are these what I need in terms of banana jacks https://uk.farnell.com/johnson-cinch-connectivity/108-0907-001/banana- jack-15a-solder-yellow/dp/2340491

And for pots:
https://www.thonk.co.uk/shop/alpha-9mm-pots/ 'VERTICAL: A1M - 1M Audio'

Can't source any kind of enclosure yet, if there's anything out there?

Thanks

Those will work.

Those vertical pots are meant to solder into PC boards. You can still use them, but harder to solder to than ones with lugs.

Almost any small box will do. Deep enough for the banana jacks.

Maybe someone can help me and make also a mute button? I'll 3d print cases for 10 of this.

Re Alpha Pots...Ah of course.

So these should work ok?

Thanks

@rmro, if you're in the UK then bitsbox.co.uk and soundtronics.co.uk are a good source for pots and other components.

Bitsbox:
https://www.bitsbox.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=94_10 0&products_id=3190

Soundtronics:
https://www.soundtronics.co.uk/taiwan-alpha-synth-pot-16mm-1m-log.html

(both 1M log response)

I like Bitsbox as they have everything you need, but only one of them, so it takes the problem of choosing which variety of an IC out of the equation, they deliver quickly and it's an independent small business. You just have to factor in the £1.75 flat shipping fee for everything you buy.

Hey thanks, yes I am in the UK.

I just completed a Meng Qi Rollz build and used Bitsbox a lot for capacitors and other things I ordered wrongly or forgot very frustrating certainly felt less intimidating than the Mousers style sites.

I'm thinking it could be cool to mount a few on a strip, looking a bit like a format jumbler with the pots down the middle. Maybe do a quick test first

Sooo I made a quick and dirty version of this. Doesn’t look good, but it works like a charm! Thank you to everyone who contributed to this thread applause

Cool box! Dead Banana

Finally getting round to building one of these.

If I remember I will need to solder a bit of wire to bridge two of the three lugs on the pots, is this correct?

thanks

While taking some glamour shots for an upcoming tape release I decided to grab some shots of my attenuating box to share with everyone here:

Got the walnut from a buddy of mine and cut the box on the cnc I use at work. I used some husky 14awg just in case my other, more slender options would have caused resistance when sending signal through tiny wire. Very happy with how this came out and it's so useful with my PB. Have yet to try it with tetrax and will make a lid for the bottom eventually.[/img]
