Hi,

I feel a little bit disappointed by the fact to be unable to go more than 3 semitones up or down with the big pitch control on the top right of the tascam.
Does someone tried to hack the pitch in order to go furthermore?

The easiest option would be to just swap out the pitch pot with a different value. I would just grab a few different values and test to taste.

I did this little cheap tape recorder a few years back:

Thx, that is the kind of simple solution i like !

haven't seen the schematics but in many cases there is a fixed resistor in series with that pitch pot, determining the Minimum resistance and fastest Speed... reducing that one too and having a bigger value pot for the pitch Control should give you ´more range on both sides (faster/slower)…

obviously the "Standard" Speed wouldn't be anymore in the middle Position of the pitch knob, and must be dialed in manually if you like to playback a normal audio tape...
