The Ernst Thoma paperface from the first video is now played by fellow wiggler Batchas. He has made a bunch of great videos with it

I blame this for my serge.

I like some of Joris Menten's videos.
This one for example is beautiful:

And this one is nice, I think:
Prunesquallor
Some great finds here! And love it that most are cohesive musical pieces rather than random noise.

Me too! Bought that exact same combo, which involved a 2 hour transatlantic phone call with Rex. Happy days.

That video is by muffs user Clockgate, thread here:

"The melody consists of a different sequence of notes programmed into each of the four rows. The row selected is determined by the bidirectional routers, controlled by various gate signals. The clock rate and direction of the melody sequencer is controlled in the same way."

^ that is remarkable.

i felt it sounded like a bagpipe, or some ethnic cello-type zither or something like that.

in all of my modular journey, i've never heard something like that

this is what i was looking for you guys, these types of videos, thanks

keep em coming
Clockgate
Thanks for the love peoples Lotsa Love

Unfortunately, not long after posting that video, I ended up selling all my synths to fund moving from Ireland to London for a job.

I have recently acquired a 200e system, so hope to produce some new material very soon.

Keep the videos coming, there are some super tracks in this thread.

What a happy-sad story. Too bad that you had to sell the synths. I hope the job-move worked out well for you.
And how great to hear that you are back in (buchla-)business.
Looking forward to new videos from you!
muncky
Seconded! Definitely hope to hear more of your stuff soon.

And I too built a VV3 on the strength of that video. RandomSource should look into giving you some sponsorship, and keeping you Serge Guinness ftw!

Me like Batchas vintage Serge patches sounds

Todd Barton ,Djanfosfire and Phisynth all have been mentioned before and get my vote! Amazing explorations.

Mudlogger also has some great improv videos up that he posted in the last year.

I wish there were more random source 4u serge videos demonstrating their sound, without being drenched in effects would also be nice!!
J3RK
Phisynth, Batchas, Drew Neumann, and pretty much everyone else mentioned so far.

hongaars
That Drew Neumann jam is nice

Doug Lynner Arabesque

Hi,

This is really old stuff, but I figured it might be good to revive it....

At the moment I am using the synth for producing, and not so much for solo performance - but maybe this will change again ...

Enjoy

great explanation and patch! thanks for sharing, this patch helps explain a few things with the serge paper face.

The serge paper face is pretty darn easy to understand if think of it in a subterranean Derrida kinda way. And yet, that analog shift register panel was a real mystery, when I delved into the paperface other day for the first time. zombie

Ok! You get points for Derrida reference! w00t

Apart from all the already mentioned, and a lot more videos around, i enjoyed this recent video because of it´s clarity and Serge for newbies style,, and of course for the badass jam at the end:

Thomas Ankersmit does some next-level sound experimentation on the Serge.

Here is a little interview where he describes his process

And here is an audio excerpt of some of his current experimentation. Recently saw him do this live, and what I was hearing was pretty incredible.
