275r Reverb Tank Options

I decided to go for it and bought a pair of three-spring Accutronics reverb tanks and plugged them into my 275r. I'm very pleased with the results. The decay is nice and long (like I wanted) and the sound is nice...no hum/hiss/noise that I can detect at normal listening levels. Input and output impedances don't match those of the spec'd tank but I cannot perceive audibly how this is having any deleterious effect. Full wet output is a bit on the quiet side but I've yet to compare to the tank that most folks use.

Glorious!! That is so big and smooth for a spring.

That sounds great!!

Where did you find the 9BC3A1B's?

Ordered direct from accutronics in South Korea. 100 bucks for the pair shipped.

Figured that was going to be the route - was hoping some obscure store had 'em in stock state-side. smile

Thanks!

Unfortunately that specific configuration appears to be custom order only. But they're only 25 bucks each...the other 50 is for what ended up being expedited shipping from Accutronics...they assembled them on Monday and I had them by Friday (not bad for coming from the other side of the globe). From what I've seen the mark-up on the bigger/nicer tanks makes the price about the same in the end.
