prototype thyratron VCOs to RK3 to RK4 to RK2 with R-56 reverb added, controlled with Arturia Keystep (if you are compelled to mess with thyratron VCOs, a Keystep is recommended because it will do Hz/v CV output). Distortion figures unknown but likely considerable. Have a nice day.

HOLY CRAP - IS RK7 an RK format R55??? I love spotting the pairs of it in the video.

Two switches! One would be octave. The other?

Also, ha "BOILER" and "BULB CRAM" (or is that BULB CREAM)

That video soooouuuuuuunnnnnddddsss nice.
Yes Powder
LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER FUCCIN' MODULE I GOTTA BUY
Never maintain cash savings again
Seriously though, I'd been wanting another thyratron oscillator to go along with my R55. This is pretty cool, and the size is much more reasonable. I might even get a second one to replace my R55 and free up some space.
Is this going to use +5v for the heaters? Because I have so much +5v that I don't know what to do with it.
Seeing subminis in Metasonix is a surprise— but a welcome one.

"Sine" lol. Just a lowpass filter to make it sound siney. Because PRIMITIVE.

Prototypes for things we figgered no one would ever understand. The BOILER is hilarious but too weird to sell and too fragile to ship anywhere. A methylene chloride bubble tube with a heater on the bottom and a photo pickup on the side. It makes boiling noises, literally.

nope, we struggled like hell to make it work from just plain +-12. It will use about 200 mA from +12.

Two thyratron VCOs thru RK5 lowpass gates, modulated with outputs from a Euclidean Circles module.
Yes the 2 channels sound very different -- thank the tubes and the vactrols, baby. Inconsistent little bastards.

VCOs to RK3s to RK5 channels modulated with Euclidean Circles. Damn nice sounds, and about as far from the usual wanky squeaky squelching as one can get.

Sounds like my dog's guts after he's been out in the backyard eating grass all afternoon. If his ass would only track Hz/V I wouldn't need to buy one of these.

Same as previous setup but with an Encore UEG sequencing the pitch.

This is the THIRD major revision of this monosynth project. So many problems with previous PCB versions that we went with some RK modules instead, to save some pain. Two completely different filters. This will be a very goddamn complicated device and so it will not be cheapie-poo. Three thyratron vcos, ten PC boards, and 15 tubes equals a certain level of assured misery. The almost "done" prototype is STILL not 100%. Two+ years of my life blown away so people can have a "flagship product" to talk about. Even if they don't buy one---honestly I will be amazed if we sell five of them in this deeply saturated market.

And it is still a few months until the front panel is ready, and I still need to write an owners manual. At least it won't sound like a goddamn Moog, ha ha ha. And it will be cheaper than a bloody Knifonium.

Cool project, but not for me. I’d buy a RK vco if it played in tune though. I mean, I love the dog fart tone, but I need to be able to tune said canine flatus.

Great to see and hear the prototype, certainly interested!

A 5-amp 12v power adapter.....why? Don't think it can do it? Sorry.

I missed this video by Schneidersladen. Great idea that never occurred to me.

Damn, now I need two of them.
