comparator? thru zero detection? increasing decrasing? Euro?

Post by lacuna » Fri Aug 16, 2019 10:20 am

hello!

i am looking for analog modules being able to
-detect thru zero crossings
-distinguish/detect falling or rising (rectified) voltage
-detect if voltage changes over a certain threshold

Is a moving/dynamic/cv-controllable comparator doing all this? plus a rectifier? plus s&h?

Can you please recommend me modules in Eurorack format that are precisely adjustable?

Check out a series of modules by Ladik.

"Precisely adjustable" doesn't really mean anything. You might need to be a little clearer in what you mean.

A slope detector will detect rising or falling slopes. Try Elby.

A comparator will detect if a voltage is over a threshold. Doepfer's works great for me.

A window comparator can be set up for zero-crossing detection. I don't know who is currently making a window comparator but one can be built from two comparators and an AND gate and a logic inverter if the comparator doesn't have a NOT output.

Check out the Joranalogue Compare 2 dual window comparator, and the Ladik Derviator - slope detector.

Comparator detects voltage change relative to an adjustable threshold. Window comparators — such as Joranalogue’s — are more flexible.

Ladik derivator detects rising or falling.

I haven't tried it yet, but this post made me realize you could do it with the WMD/SSF Toolbox.

-Rectifier for sending the cv to the non thru zero fm input
-Comparator for zero-crossing detection on the modulator.
-Invert for generating the inverted carrier output.
-Switch for switching between Normal and Inverted carrier signal.

Have a look at the Ladik Derivator (J-110) and Comparator (J-120) in 4HP:
