Frac-Rack Tip - Black Mounting screws

Post by Muff Wiggler » Tue Jun 05, 2007 2:08 am

I cannot tell you how much cooler Frac-rack stuff in general, and Blacet in particular, looks when you use black mounting screws. Just 'quiets' up the panels just enough.

And then you replace any silver PCB mounting screw on the faceplate of your modules with a black one, and you've got a really really sleek look.

those silver screws are fugly :P

right. the silver faceplate screws (just like the rack screws) are 4-40 (US) threaded. i stopped off at my local Ace hardware and picked up some tiny allen-head 4-40 screws (because they are easier to find in black). they have replaced my rack and front panel screws and look great. they look identical to the ones that metalbox uses.
