App (iPhone) for sketching out musical ideas on the go?

Post by pricklyrobot » Wed Aug 28, 2019 9:15 am

The other day on my lunch break I was looking at a page of some alternate/exotic musical scales. And I thought to myself ‘huh, it’d be nice to be able to doodle around with some of these.’

So what’s a good App for that? Don’t need a whole lot of synthesis capability (presets would fine), just a little playable keyboard and maybe some kind of simple sequencer and/or arpeggiator.
Doesn’t need to be free, but cheap-ish is good;)

What are your favorites?

You could have a look at Wilsonic this allows you to open a scale from it in audiokit d1 (don’t know if that’s iPhone compatible ) or audio kit synth one which recently released an iPhone version. They also recently added a lot of tunings in Wilsonic to synth one, which is also free I believe.

Garage Band works on iPhone and is free from the App Store. Super easy.
Disappointment with any module is usually a failure of imagination.

Ummm, I guess you would call it techno.
