SMD equivalent for 1n5817?

Post by plushterry » Tue Sep 10, 2019 6:37 pm

Hi, I'm looking for a SMD substitute for 1N5817 when used in a reverse voltage protection configuration for a +/-15V supply.

I found this: https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/ ... sKV0S6k%3D

would that be suitable? is there something better someone could recommend me?

Many thanks

that would work. you could also use SM5817 or B5817 if you want to use the same thing. they often change the prefix for the smt versions.

has anyone done any testing to show if there is any significant added noise on the power rails as a trade off for adding protection? I am genuinely curious but I lack precise power supplies and measurement equipment.
