weird bug with note 42 on FH-1/FHX-1

Post by eewee » Sun Oct 06, 2019 12:34 pm

Hi,

I have been configuring my FH-1 (latest firmware 2.3) and FHX-1 for use with a Beatstep Pro, and it does exactly what I want (two mono voices on 1-8, 8 gated velocity outputs for the drums (notes 36-43) on 9-16), *except* that I can't get note 42 to get through to port 15, or as it turns out, *any* port.
There's no hardware problem on the FH-1 or its expander (by swapping the output ports, the problem just moves with the input note to the newly assigned port).

The relevant part of my script looks like this (contrary to advise, I want to make the FH-1 follow the default BSP config, rather than reconfig the BSP, hence the explicit note assignments):
DEV:Arturia BeatStep Pro
MCV1:1:0-127:C0G1V2A3
MCV2:2:0-127:C4G5V6A7
MCV3:10:36-36:v8
MCV4:10:37-37:v9
MCV5:10:38-38:v10
MCV6:10:39-39:v11
MCV7:10:40-40:v12
MCV8:10:41-41:v13
MCV9:10:42-42:v14
MCV9:10:43-43:v15
MCV10:
;; etc, until MCV16
Any help/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

oh yes, forgot to mention: the BSP correctly outputs note 42 (checked with MIDI monitor), and the FH-1 acknowledges MIDI reception by blinking the MIDI activity LED.

You have MCV9 twice there. So the second definition is replacing the first.

oh god, oh god

My only excuse is a case of the flu, and a head full of cotton (local idiom, not sure that translates correctly).

Thanks, os, and apologies again for the silly question.
