ES-3 availability

Post by Faastwalker » Tue Oct 08, 2019 6:36 pm

I have had an ES-3 on pre-order since July. No sign it's going to be fulfilled anytime soon by the responses from the reseller.

I've checked resellers across the globe & they all seem to be a little thin on the ground. Are ES still making these modules?

Yes, they're in the factory right now. Things have been backed up a bit but I'm expecting more stock soon.

I heard from the re-seller here in Australia. They are on there way to them. Excellent :tu:

On a side note - I need to buy an ADAT cable. Just looking now and, like with most cables, there's a huge price variation across the available options. Not exactly sure what I should be looking for here. Is it worth paying more for an ADAT cable or would a more affordable one do the job?

Being a digital cable, it either works or it doesn't, but I would avoid the really thin ones as they tend to be a bit inflexible. Likewise avoid unnecessarily fat plugs, since they just get in the way.

I use these:

Of course the 'gold plated' there is pure snake oil.

I received my ES-3 last week. This is game changing. No set-up beyond a few tweaks to the audio interface settings & enabling the outputs in my DAW. Beyond that it's pretty straight forward. Fantastic.

Currently ES-3 seems to be out of stock on all European distributors. Is there any ETA of the new batch? Musicstore had an estimate of beginning of May, but now they have delayed it into 13. of June. Is that a reliable estimate of general availability in Europe?

That's a guess at best. More are being made, but I can't say for sure when they'll be ready.

Damn, might have to figure out something else for interaction with computer then. Thanks for the very quick response.
